Maidstone United Under-23s travel to Faversham Town on Friday evening.

The Lilywhites endured a tough start to the season, suffering a 7-2 defeat to Lydd Town in their opener. Six days later, they were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Whitstable Town. A month on, they secured their first win with a 2-0 victory over Deal Town. Their most recent outing ended in a 3-3 draw at home to Hastings United last Friday.

The Stones head into this weekend’s fixture full of confidence after a commanding 6-1 win against league leaders Margate. Nathan Baker’s side remain unbeaten in the league and are playing catch-up following a restructure that saw three divisions merged into two last month.

Maidstone currently sit fourth in the table, nine points behind Margate but with four games in hand.

Following Friday’s match, the Stones will take a brief break from league action as they begin their Kent Intermediate Cup campaign away to Cray Wanderers.
