Having impressed in his first five games, he was offered a permanent deal and rapidly became a mainstay of the Stones defence – winning a championship medal at the end of his first season.
George, who works as a football coach outside of his first team commitments, started his playing career with Ipswich Town and played in last season’s memorable FA Cup match at Portman Road.
