Agbontohoma began his youth career at Arsenal before moving to Southampton. His senior career took off after a successful trial with Sheffield Wednesday in July 2021, making his debut against Harrogate Town in the EFL Trophy that November.
In January 2023, he joined Boreham Wood on a one-month loan, making his debut the following day in an FA Cup clash against Accrington Stanley. The move was made permanent a month later.
