Maidstone United Women are set to return to competitive football this Sunday (14 December), when they travel to face Chistlehurst Glebe for a 2pm kick off. It will be their first match since 23 November, when they defeated Betteshanger 3-0 at the Welfare Ground.

The team’s momentum has stalled in recent weeks as their last three scheduled matches were postponed, two of those due to opponents unable to field a side.

The unexpected break has left the squad eager to get back on the pitch and resume their strong run of form.

Manager Tori Campbell admitted the disruption has been difficult for everyone involved.

“It’s been incredibly frustrating,” she said. “The players are training hard and preparing properly every week, only to find out at the last moment that the game isn’t going ahead. We understand things happen, but this run has really broken our rhythm. We just want the opportunity to play, compete and keep building on the progress we’ve made.”

With Sunday’s trip to Glebe finally on the horizon, Maidstone will be hoping the wait is over and that they can pick up exactly where they left off.
