The 22-year-old defender initially joined the Stones on loan from League Two side Bromley a month ago. His standout performances quickly endeared him to fans and attracted interest from other National League clubs.
Keen to retain his services beyond the original loan – which was set to run until early February but included a recall clause – the two clubs agreed a permanent transfer last Friday.
Taylor sustained an injury last Saturday, which caused concern both for the player and the club. However, club medical staff looked at the injury and have advised that he should be fit again within a few weeks. The club therefore decided to go ahead and secure a long-term deal for a player they rate highly.
Taylor signed for Bromley in July 2024 following his departure from Arsenal earlier that summer. During his time with the Gunners’ under-21s, he featured in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy, and also spent time on loan at Hartlepool United, who were then competing in League Two.
