Maidstone United Women welcome Richmond & Kew Women to the Gallagher Stadium this Sunday for the second qualifying round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Both teams entered the competition in the previous round. The Stones secured a convincing 5-1 win over Oxted & District, while Richmond & Kew put in a dominant performance, scoring 11 goals against Epsom & Ewell Ladies.
Richmond & Kew play in the London & South East Division One North – a tier above Maidstone. They’ve lost their opening three league fixtures, although two of those defeats were by just a single goal. As we know, league form often counts for little when a place in the next round of the FA Cup is at stake.
The winners of Sunday’s tie will receive £3,000 from the FA’s prize fund, while the losing side will take home £750.
The third and final qualifying round is scheduled for Sunday 5 October. The draw will be announced next Monday (22 September).
