Ellie Hinkley netted a hattrick as Maidstone United Women fired five past Margate on the opening day of the SECWFL Premier Division campaign.

The Stones picked up right where they left off last weekend, delivering a dominant performance at Hartsdown Park.

Hinkley struck twice in the first half, and a Margate own goal gave Maidstone a comfortable three-goal cushion at the break.

She completed her hattrick in the second half, while player-manager Tori Campbell also got on the scoresheet to round off a commanding display.

Maidstone return to action next Sunday for their first home game of the season, taking on Richmond & Kew in the second qualifying round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
