It comes shortly after the 17-year-old made his first-team debut for his hometown club in a league match away to Chippenham Town. He followed that up with an appearance in the Emirates FA Cup a week later.

After coming through the youth set-up at Chelsea, he played for the Stones under-18s last season and has also made appearances for the under-23s this season.

Stones boss George Elokobi said: “This is a great opportunity for Riley and he thoroughly deserves it.

“My message to him is that the hard work starts now. We want to work with him to help develop his all round game and I know he’s got the appetite for it and the tenacity to make it.

“He’s got a big heart, plays with no fear and that’s someone I can believe in and want to see do well.”

Riley follows in the footsteps of his dad, Ian, who played for the Stones back in the noughties.
