The Stones mascot did a walkabout along Week Street and Fremlin Walk, before joining the Mayor of Maidstone, Hazlitt Theatre panto stars and KMfm presenters Gary and Chelsea for the countdown. It was the first outing for Iggy’s new replica shirt, which includes his name on the back and his squad number – 1834 – the year Iguanodon remains were discovered at a quarry in Queen’s Road, near to where the old Athletic Ground stood.
Stones in the Community operations manager and women’s first team boss Tori Campbell said: “It was great to be out with Iggy for the lights switch on. I lost count of the number of photos we took for children and families, he was a dinosaur in demand! Thank you to One Maidstone for inviting us and we look forward to joining you for future events.”
Iggy is sponsored by KHP Country Homes. The independent estate agency is owned and managed by local, experienced and enthusiastic property professionals. KHP has branches in Allington (Mid Kent Shopping Centre), Borough Green (Danns Court), Kings Hill (Liberty Square), Paddock Wood (Commercial Road) and West Malling (High Street).
