The striker joined newly-promoted Aveley this summer and his goals and assists in the first three months of the season had put him firmly on the watchlist for several clubs.
But today he agreed terms with George Elokobi and put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season.
Matt came through the youth ranks at Southend United, spending eight years with The Shrimpers. He made his first-team debut at the Stadium of Light four years ago this month.
While at Roots Hall, he had loan spells at Great Wakering Rovers, Harlow Town, Tonbridge Angels and Chelmsford City.
Last season, he gained National League South experience at Braintree Town, making more than 40 appearances as the Essex side made it to the end of season play-offs.
Matt is cup-tied for tomorrow’s Emirates FA Cup first round match but join us at the Gallagher on Tuesday to meet our newest addition.
