Maidstone United Women kicked off the 2025/26 season in style with a commanding 5-1 victory over Oxted & District.

Just like last season, their opening fixture came in the FA Cup. The Stones were drawn away to a newly promoted side that had gone unbeaten at home throughout their previous league campaign.

It was Oxted who struck first, opening the scoring in the 16th minute after a strong spell of play from Tori Campbell’s side. But Maidstone turned the game around before half-time. Kylie Manktelow equalised, and Ellie Hinkley added a second just two minutes before the break.

The hosts had a chance to level the score shortly after the hour mark, but Georgia Perch made a crucial goal-line clearance to keep Maidstone ahead.

Manktelow netted her second – and Maidstone’s third – after 73 minutes to settle any nerves. Just four minutes later, Annie White added a fourth. Refusing to ease off, the Stones continued to press, and Chi Madamombe made it 5-1 with a minute of normal time remaining.

Even in stoppage time, Manktelow came close to completing her hat-trick, and Georgia Culpitt nearly added her name to the scoresheet.

The draw for the next round will be announced on Monday lunchtime. Keep an eye on the website or follow updates via X (@mufcwomen).
