The following was featured in the Chelmsford programme (03/09/24).
The Under Stand Inn
With the help of our partners: iMUSC, Shepherd Neame and SEC Works Group, this work was completed last August and September. If you haven’t ventured down there yet, it’s well worth a visit. As well as the bar, there is some fantastic artwork featuring Stones fans and some key players from the recent past.
Food concession unit (1)
As you may or may not realise, the food hut to the right of the GENCO Stand was no longer fit for purpose and needed replacing. This installation has now been completed and with the help of our catering partners and volunteers has been through a re-fit. This food hut will now be the primary sales point for Dave’s first-class Kentish Mayde pies. At some point in the future, the current pie hut at the Town End will be retired. This date is to be agreed.
Food concession unit (2)
You may have noticed that the food catering van, which was to the left of GENCO, has also gone. We are planning to create a secondary food concession in this area.
Away Bar – under the GENCO
With the help of Shepherd Neame and SEC Works Group, there will be some refurbishment to this area, which is ongoing and due for completion later this month
Tea & Coffee Bar – under the GENCO
Again, with the help of SEC Works Group and in house volunteers, there is a new area serving tea, coffee, cakes and soft drinks. We hope this eases queuing in and around the ground
Milling area – under the GENCO
With the assistance of one of our business partners, AG driveways, we have created an extra area with picnic tables for people to congregate. This work will be completed by the end of the month.
Food concession unit – Town End
Further discussion is ongoing as the Stones Grill unit will require upgrade and refurbishment. Work will likely start towards the end of this season.
Toilet block – Town End
A new toilet block is on order and it will be a similar spec to the one under the match day control room. We’re going through the planning process now, so realistically we’re looking at a mid to end of October completion.
