Maidstone United’s final game of the regular season ended in a 2-2 draw at Farnborough after the Stones twice came from behind to claim a point. Maidstone will now be away at Worthing on Wednesday night in the play-offs.

Farnborough started this game strongly. With just three minutes gone, Jonathon Stuttle’s volley as he turned drew a decent save from Alexis Andre Jr. Then from the resultant corner, Lexus Beeden was left unmarked as he placed his header just inside the right post.

Shortly after this, Joe Haigh passed to Millar Matthew-Lewis. Matthew-Lewis fired the ball goalwards only for Andre Jr to make another decent save.

Maidstone slowly grew into the game and they equalised on 32 minutes. Reiss Greenidge slipped a nice ball forward to Tom Leahy who kept his composure and put a decent finish past Jack Turner.

Farnborough had a penalty shout early in the second half after Stuttle and Andre Jr challenged for the ball but there was little else to note until the 75th minute. Ben Brookes’ inviting low free-kick was backheeled by substitute Shaq Couthirst inside the six yard box and with Greenidge looking to pounce, Turner gathered the ball.

The home side immediately broke and scored. Stuttle made progress down the right and he pulled it back to Matty Macarthur who swept the ball past substitute Lenny Holden.

George Fowler headed a Brookes free-kick over before the Stones levelled on 81 minutes. Brookes was involved again as this time his corner was met by substitute Harry Kyprianou who headed the ball forwards and Blair finished from close range.
