Maidstone United Football Club celebrated the 2008/09 season at Mote Hall, Maidstone Leisure Centre. The evening was sponsored by Whitehead Monckton.

The charity

Terry Casey from The Yirgaalem Appeal Trust was one of our special guests.

When the Yirgaalem Appeal trust was inaugurated in May 2005 and pledged to achieve the following:

•  To give children of the town an education that would have been denied to them.
  
•  To take children off the streets of Yirgaalem and give them a childhood.
  
•  To work with the local youth centre funding HIV awareness and health and safe sex programmes.
  
•  To support existing schools in the area so they could continue their work.
  
•  To support remote rural regions who are vulnerable to serious difficulties if their crops fail.
  
•  To enable the local community to eventually fund these projects through their own skills and hard work.
